I made it! The train ride was pretty uneventful, and Marina met me at the station with a little sign with my name on it. She gave me a big hug :) She's really lovely, but a little strange in an arty sort of way. She's into music and has her own little jazz group, and teaches Portugeuse for a living. My room is huge! Marina lives in a little flat with four big rooms. Her bedroom, a sitting room and my room, which also has her desk in it. The last room is divided into kitchen and bathroom. At the moment I'm typing from her computer, because I still need to get my own wireless. The keyboard is weird! The Y and Z keys are back to front, and all the umlauted letters and the ß are squished in. I keep pressing the wrong things :P
I'm tired. We haven't done much this afternoon. I unpacked a bit, we ate some lunch and then I had a nap. I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I've been reading my book since then and we've just finished dinner. I think I'll be going back to bed soon. Tomorrow is looking like another lazy day, in the afternoon we're going to visit a friend of Marina's, then on Monday afternoon I have orientation for uni.
I'm missing home now. Frankfurt was so new and exciting and I had so much to squeeze in that I didn't really feel homesick, but now that I've settled in a bit it's dawned on me that I'll be here for the next six weeks. I hope you're all enjoying the warm back home. Right now it's 10 degrees here, which is very warm for this time of year :P
Miss you all *huggles*
Don't be homesick, you're going to have an awesome time and we don't miss you at all so you shouldn't miss us...
